Our Rich History
Indigenous people have been living in the area since time immemorial. The local nations include the Nlaka’pamux Nation and the Secwepemc Nation. Ashcroft played an important role during the Gold Rush days and has been known since 1885 as a railway town. Much of that history can be seen throughout the town and in Ashcroft’s museum, considered one of the best in B.C.
