Fishing

Fishing is a pass-time enjoyed by many local residents and the surrounding area has a large array of excellent fishing lakes within 40 km of the community.  Fishing opportunities are available all four season, including ice fishing during the winter.

Below is a list of excellent angling opportunities around Ashcroft.  The Thomspon River runs through the Village where as Barnes Lake is located above Ashcroft on the way to Logan Lake.  Many local anglers do not consider their season complete without a day on Barnes.

What to Know Before You Go

All anglers require a valid BC Freshwater Fishing license.  You can purchase your license online by visiting the BC Freshwater Fishing Website.

Ashcroft is located in Region 3, detailed in the BC Freshwater Fishing regulations.  Be sure to check the regulations for all bodies of water where you plan to angle.
