Toilet Paper Fish

Be creative and make a toilet paper fish!

Materials:

  • Toilet paper roll (if you don’t have a toilet paper roll, cut a paper towel roll in half)
  • Paint
  • Paint brush
  • Lid to hold paint
  • Cup to hold water
  • Felt markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue (optional)
  • Googly eyes (optional)
  • Glitter (optional)

Steps:

1. Get a toilet paper roll (or cut a paper towel roll in half if you don’t have a toilet paper roll)

2. Decide if you want to use paint or felt markers

3. Either decorate your paper towel roll with paint and/or glitter, or make a design with felt markers (in our example we used felt markers)

4. Let the paint or felt marker dry completely before touching the toilet paper roll

5. Place your fingers on the outside middle of one open side of the roll. Pinch your fingers together. Push your fingers downwards, flattening the middle and the two sides are pointed. This is the head of your fish

6. On the other side where the roll is open. Flatten it slightly, take your scissors and cut in a diagonal from one side of the roll to almost the middle. Then from the side cut a straight line to almost the middle, cutting out a small triangle. Do this on the other side. This is the tail of your fish

7. On the head of the fish, decide if you are gluing on a googly eye or drawing an eye (in our example we drew an eye)
