Back before ballpoint pens, students used quill pens. These pens were made from a quill feather. You would dip the end of the feather in ink, then use it to write on paper.

Materials:
- Feather- These can be bought at a dollar store or craft store
- Ink OR paint
- Paper
Dip the tip of your feather into the ink or paint, then write something on your piece of paper! Try writing a letter to a friend or family member. Or, try writing in calligraphy.
